Facts about the Gray Wolves
• The wolf does not mind water and will wade through icy streams or swim across short stretches of lake. In summer, wolves often bathe in streams to keep cool or wash off mud. They will also follow prey into water.
• Wolves groom much like our domestic dogs. Two wolves will lick each others coats, nibbling gently with their teeth to remove foreign matter, especially during courtship. Injured wolves are intensely groomed by other pack members, providing both physical and mental comfort.
