Facts about the White Wolves
• The arctic wolf lives in up to five months of darkness a year, is able to tolerate years of sub-zero temperatures, and can go weeks without food.
•
The arctic wolf lives in one of the few places on earth where it is safe from the greatest threat and enemy to the wolf- man.
• Arctic wolves live in some of the most inhospitable terrain in the world. The ground is permanently frozen and the temperature rarely rises to above 22 degrees. The arctic wolf is one of the few mammals that can tolerate these conditions. Because of where they live and the conditions in which they live man has been unable to study them thoroughly and details of this wolf's life through much of the year are virtually unknown.
