Salmon Crested Cockatoo Crystal Earrings 08 | |||
The Photo of a salmon crested cockatoo is flipped to make right and left earrings. An ivory opal glaze beneath the pictures seems to glow up through the transparent images on domed cabochon buttons. When tipped in the light the ivory background beneath the cockatoos appears to have a subtle pink opal affect and the birds look almost metallic. Button frame measures 3/4" wide X 1" high. Stone is 13mm x 20mm. Photo will be aprx. 1/2" around. A pink 8mm Czech faceted crystal dangles below. Available in antiqued silver plated metals. Facts about Cockatoos |
• Cockatoos are very beautiful bright birds. Most of them are white with touches of red and yellow, but a few are black. There are 18 species and 37 subspecies of Cockatoos. • Adult cockatoos pair for life and take care of each other. A single Cockatoo will be happy as a pet if you devote plenty of time to it, but it's better to have two Cockatoos. • Male cockatoos are usually a little larger than females and have dark brown or black eyes, while females eyes are burgundy or light brown. • The average life span of a cockatoo is 70-80 years. Some Sulfur-crested birds have lived over 100 years. Cockatoos are considered to be the longest lived of all parrots.
