This painting of Mary praying was made by one of the old masters, digitized onto a transparency with a domed white mountain jade gemstone as a background. An occasional twinkle may sometimes be seen if tilted in direct light. The option menus below allow you to custom tailor this Praying Mary pendant your way. It is made for you after you order, to your specifications and is considered a custom piece. An antiqued silver plated scrolled pendant frame is cast brass. The scrolled edge design appeals to both traditional and modern tastes and is available in your choice of large or small sizes. Large (on left) stone is 30mm X 40mm and frame measures 1 1/2" by 2" high. You chose a cable chain in of either 18" or 24" length with lobster claw fastener. I recommend older girls and petite women order the small. Small (on right) stone is 25mm X 18mm and frame measures 1" wide by 1 1/4"high. Comes with a thinner cable chain of either 18"or 24" length with lobster claw fastener. Great for young girls and ladies who like smaller jewelry. Not recommended for boys or men. Gentle woman, quiet light In Mary's time the penalty for an unwed mother was death by stoning. At the time of the angel's visit with the news of the honor being bestowed on Mary, she was only 14 or 15 years old and was promised in marriage to Joseph. She must have had tremendous faith, not only that her life would be spared, but that Joseph would still accept her. How awesome to think that the Savior of the world was entrusted to a couple of teenage kids! As Jesus grew I wonder if Mary really understood how the end would come to His earthly life and what suffering she would have to endure as she watched her son die the death of a common thief.
